How to Apply

Ready to start your application? Below you’ll find details on requirements, deadlines, and helpful resources to guide you as you navigate the process.

Getting started

Earning your bachelor’s degree empowers you to take on new roles and opportunities within your career. Whether you want to earn a higher salary, secure a leadership role, or simply achieve a long-held goal, you’ll be well-positioned to make a difference in your life and your community.

The admissions process

1. Review and complete all application requirements

It’s easy to apply to a bachelor’s degree completion program at Northeastern. Most programs share the same general application requirements, which include:

  • Completing an online application
  • Submitting one of the following:
    • Official GED, HiSET, or TSAC documents
    • Official associate degree transcript, stating degree conferral and date
    • Official high school transcript or an attestation form
  • Submitting transfer credit documents, including:
    • Academic transcripts from each institution you previously attended and are requesting transfer credit from (if any of these materials are not in English, submit a certified translation as well)
    • College-level examination results
    • Military-related documentation that can be used for transfer credit

Some programs have additional application requirements, such as:

  • A professional resumé
  • A statement of purpose
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Proof of English proficiency, including TOEFL (code: 4999), IELTS, PTE, or Duolingo scores

Be sure to review your individual program’s requirements to ensure you have everything you need to submit a complete application.

2. Gather and submit your supporting documents

It is important to include “College of Professional Studies” in the address when sending mail or requesting transcripts from previous institutions.

3. Receive your admissions decision

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and prospective students can apply to a program up to one full year prior to their desired start term. Domestic students are encouraged to submit their application at least eight weeks prior to the start of the term, while international students who need an F1 visa to study have specific application deadlines.

Admissions decisions are typically made within five to 10 business days, and you’ll be notified of our decision via email. Accepted students will receive an admissions packet in the mail a week or two after their initial notification.
