Gain an in-depth understanding of psychological principles and human behavior with Northeastern’s Bachelor of Science in Psychology. This STEM-designated program covers essential areas, including social and abnormal psychology, sensory function, learning, memory, human development, emotion, and motivation. Through electives, students will also have the opportunity to develop their counseling skills and pursue other areas of specialized interest.

Ideal for students with prior college credits or life experience, our psychology degree is structured to fit around your career and lifestyle. You’ll be part of a supportive community of adult learners, with pathways to a graduate education and careers in fields like human services, research, and more.

This is a STEM-designated program.

The BS in Psychology program equips students with essential skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on individuals, organizations, and communities. The curriculum covers foundational theories, research, and practices in psychology, emphasizing scientific thinking, ethical behavior, and respect for diversity.

Through this program, students gain valuable insights into human behavior and mental processes while fostering social consciousness and interpersonal growth.

Students can tailor their studies by following one of three career-focused tracks—applied behavioral analysis, clinical, or education.

A psychology degree opens doors to diverse career paths. With critical thinking skills and a solid understanding of human behavior, you’ll be prepared to enter careers in industry and human services or pursue graduate work in psychology or social work.

A psychology background also makes you a strong candidate for roles involving interaction, analysis, and leadership, such as positions in sales, teaching, research, marketing, public relations, management, or administration.

While professional “psychologist” roles require a graduate degree, bachelor’s holders excel in fields like:

  • Marketing and research
  • Counseling
  • Social work
  • Management
  • Advertising
  • Labor relations

Northeastern’s signature experiential learning model combines rigorous academics with practical, hands-on experiences.

Through co-ops, research projects, and industry partnerships, you’ll apply what you learn in real-world settings, gaining valuable skills and insights that set you apart in the job market. This approach empowers you to put theory into action, allowing you to make an impact in your field even before you graduate.
