Earning a bachelor’s degree might seem daunting right now. There’s a time and cost commitment, and you’re likely already trying to juggle a full- or part-time job, perhaps even on top of a busy family or military schedule.
But you can earn a bachelor’s degree—and at top-ranked university, no less.
Northeastern is committed to helping you achieve your career goals. Whether you’re trying to re-enter the workforce, change jobs, develop new skills to advance in your current company, or take the next step after earning your associate degree, we can help.
Here’s how:
Your life is busy; we get that. It’s why we offer our bachelor’s degree completion programs in a variety of formats, including on-campus, 100% online, or a hybrid of the two, allowing you to learn on a schedule best suited to your lifestyle.
If you have previously earned credits from a regionally accredited college or university, you could also pursue one of our Fast-Track programs and earn your bachelor’s in just 20 months. Or, you can choose a Self-Paced option and focus on completing one or two courses per term—really, whatever pace is right for you works for us.
At Northeastern, we believe that it’s experience that makes the difference. The benefit of that is that you’re probably closer to earning your bachelor’s degree than you think, because we want to turn as much of your prior classroom learning and job experience into transfer credit as possible.
That transfer credit can be earned through college-level proficiency exams or a formal Assessment of Prior Learning (APL). Degree requirements can also be fulfilled by credits earned from a regionally accredited institution.
An advisor will work with you individually to develop an academic and career plan that can help guide you effectively through your degree program—and beyond. An advisor will collaborate with you to learn more about your background to better identify and determine how best to fill any knowledge and skills gaps. Together, you’ll chart a realistic, achievable, and timely path to graduation, before your first class even starts.
Education should be affordable. To make that possible, Northeastern offers a range of financial aid opportunities in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans to qualified applicants. Roughly 60 percent of companies also offer some form of tuition assistance, so if you’re currently working, tuition reimbursement could be an option for you.
Your success is our ultimate goal. Even if you haven’t been successful in college before, we’re here to help show you how you can work toward a bachelor’s degree.
Our Lowell Institute School—the premier institution to finish your bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering—is dedicated to supporting underserved students and preparing them for careers in STEM. Northeastern is also committed to helping veterans and servicemembers achieve their personal and professional goals, by providing funding that bridges the gaps in their military benefits, mentorship, and dedicated career services.
A bachelor’s isn’t the only thing in reach; we can help prepare you for the career you want after your degree is done.
If there’s a gap in your experience, or an area you want to gain more specialized knowledge in, we offer a variety of experiential learning opportunities to help you develop new, in-demand skills. Our experiential learning model combines classroom study with real-world work, providing you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in your desired field, whether through short-term projects, research, internships, co-ops, or in-class case studies.
We promise: A bachelor’s degree is within reach and, with that, the career you want. Let us prove it to you. Connect with our team to take the first step.
